Black currant is a dark berry rich in anthocyanins and vitamin C, plant compounds that act as antioxidants and may influence how blood vessels relax and stretch. People mostly look at it for heart and blood-vessel health, but the evidence is very limited: one small study of 45 people found no clear difference in arterial stiffness or pulse wave velocity. Because that is a single small trial, it says little about longer use or other groups, and more research is needed.
