Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a gel-like sugar molecule found naturally in skin, joints, and eyes, where it holds large amounts of water and keeps tissues lubricated. Most people look at it for dry eye, and a pooled analysis of eye drops found dry eye symptoms improved, with moderate evidence behind that result. The effect was small, though, and it came from a single analysis of 582 people, so it speaks to eye drops rather than to capsules or pills.
